Rome is situated in an area surrounded by "I Sette Colli Romani"-- the seven roman hills, and only 40 minutes from the coast. This city is quite comfortable to visit through out the whole year. The weather varies from an average of 7°C in winter and 30° in the summer. Of course, it does have high peaks, which can reach 40° in August and 3° in January but it doesn’t happen very often. The rainy season can be said to start around the end of March through April, and late September through October. The very best period to visit this lovely city is by the end of March and until July. The so called "coldest months" are January and February, but when walking around the city this cold is hardly felt. Unique in their particularity, are the Sundays in October, which are famous for the autumn perfumes, the warm colours and the fresh, yet not cold air (friccicherella) which can be breathed when strolling around the hills that surround Rome. |
